Aurora Sinai Medical Center Frontline Workers to Receive 250 Care Kits from Poshabodes

Locally-sourced Kits Provide Stress Relief, Nutrition and Much-needed Washable Laundry Bags

Milwaukee (April 23, 2020) – Poshabodes, a Milwaukee-based women-owned business that specializes in luxury vacation rental management, is pausing its recent company launch and shifting gears to help support frontline workers at Aurora Sinai Medical Center.

For the past two weeks, Poshabodes has been working with local companies to curate a collection of self-care items to donate to health care professionals. The 250 Care Kits, which include 15 items and are valued at nearly $150, will be given to the medical staff on all shifts in the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit and one additional area that works with COVID-19 patients.

“Giving back to the community is core to our mission, and so it was natural to want to show our appreciation to the hospital workers who are tirelessly giving of themselves day after day,” says Jennie Korth, co-founder and CEO of Poshabodes. “We also saw this as an opportunity to support small local businesses by purchasing their products for inclusion in our Care Kits. We’re extremely grateful to those who were able to provide items at a significant discount, or even outright donate, in these tough times.”

Prior to sourcing the kits, Poshabodes surveyed health care workers to determine what items they would appreciate the most. A washable laundry bag to store and transport their clothes after a shift was a top request by many. Another was on-the-go, pocket-sized snacks for a quick boost of energy and nourishment.

When: The Poshabodes team will be assembling the 250 care kits April 24, 25, 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day at a Pewaukee location .

The Care Kits will be delivered to Aurora Sinai Medical Center on April 27 at 9 a.m. at the Kilbourn Avenue entrance.

The Poshabodes Care Kit contents include the following local products, among others:

  • Washable laundry bag provided by Tote Bag Factory with screen printing from Funn & Baloney in Hartland
  • Lip balm, intensive healing balm and hand sanitizer from Nourish Naturals in Bayside
  • Gourmet chocolate from Chocolate Sommelier on Brady St. in Milwaukee or Heavenly Treasures by Craig Nyholm in Brown Deer

Second Care Kit Delivery Planned
In addition to the April 27 care kit delivery to Aurora Sinai Medical Center, Poshabodes is assembling an additional batch of 100 kits that can be purchased by the public and will be shared with another local health care facility.

“While we don’t have the financial resources to fund another 100 kits, we know there is a greater need and thought there might be Milwaukeeans who are interested in purchasing a kit as a way to express their gratitude to our frontline workers,” explains Korth.

The kits are available online at poshabodes.com/poshcares for $50. Due to limited supplies, only 100 are available. The 100 Care Kit delivery is slated to take place the week of May 4.
